Hello,
I'm looking to by a pump for my skimmer at around 900 GPH. I saw the Quiet One's at J&L, but then the Mag 9.5 was more expensive. Is there a difference between these 2 pumps?
I was going to go with the Quiet One....
Any input?

The old QuietOne pumps had a bad rep of overheating and even catching on fire.

I havn't heard anything bad (or good) regarding the new QuietOne pumps.

Conan, why not go with a MAG 950 pump ?
they sell for like 130$ here i think.

The Little Giant pumps work well...they are a bit noisy but mine has been running for about 3 years non stop.

For $150.00 It was only used for about 2 hours. The pump is basically brand new. I bought it for my DIY skimmer, the skimmer ended up leaking so I bought a skimmer. The skimmer that I bought came with a pump so I don't need that little giant anymore.

why are you looking for another pump? for your skimmer. That T4 works great on my 6 foot skimmer. you should have no probs using that one and its super quiet.

good point Johhny, but I want to put a cut up bioball to the impeller and I don't know if that'll work on a T4....? plus a T4 on a skimmer.... is that too much flow? I made mine with marty. Marty, what do you think?

Well for price concerns. The Quiet One is cheaper than the mag, but I wanted to know if it was worth the price to spend more for the mag than the Quiet one.
