hard starting pumps and wavemaster pro

I just bought a wavemaster pro and everytime one of my powerheads it makes a noise and i am wondering if that stresses the fish....i have 3 hagen 802 and 1 maxijet 900 wich that one doesnt make any noise.Should i get different powerheads?

Does the wavemaster pro not have a soft on / off function?
Also, I heard that maxijets are better for using on wavemakers.

I just ordered 2 maxijet 1200 today.....but will the hard start of my powerheads 802 stress the fishes in the mean time that i get my other ones.
