I was looking at these T5 fixtures. They come with reflector, bulb, fixture and quick diconnect cords. They are about $40 CDN. Anyone used them? I'm about to order 3 - 10k and 3 - Actinic.

I've seen the 48" ones at his place. They are great!!! He will be shortly carrying 72" ones ( which I've also seen) too. From what I remember, you can plug up to 4x the 48" ones in series very easily on one ballast necause thay all come prewired with plug and socket already installed. You hook them up kinda like you would with christmas tree lights in series. The 72" ones need 1 ballast per bulb, but it is still cheaper if you do your calculations over a 12 month period. I "think" that is what I heard as it's been a while now and can't remember exactly.

The 24" ones come self ballasted, that's why I'm so interested :D I think I'll place the order today.

DD,
I made a bit of a mistake. The 48" ones come self ballasted too and are a complete throwaway unit for approx. $45. You can plug up to 4 of these in series on the same plug ( included on the bulbs). The 72" units do NOT have a builtin ballast, but are also approx. $45 and the ballast are about the same price. You need 1 ballast per 72" bulb. I think they are very good. The actinics are also true 03 actinics ( 420nm).
