Hi all,
Anyone out there had any issues using a SCWD? I have on on loan hooked up to a Fluval 304. It only seems to pump continuously out one side. Could ther be something I'm doing wrong? I watched the video and it seems like it's supposed to alternate quite frequently.

i think it depends on the water flow through them not sure a 304 would be enough power to switch it over

According to the site all it needs is 50gph. The 304 is 260gph.

I have one running off a mak 4. At first I loved it but, now I'm not so crazy about it. It is cutting alot of the flow off with the back pressure on my pump. If you can you should try it on a stronger pump to make sure it is working properly

hmmm... I hearing nothing but bad about it... damn!
ReefMac, possibly try disconnecting it and giving it a good rinse in freshwater and a good shake. Seriously! I experienced the same thing and that seemed to have fixed it! Also, make sure that it's level and vertical. That seems to help. Has anyone else found that they're kinda finnicky?! Or is mine deffective?

Hey Reefbiz, I rinsed it and lew out all three holes. There's definitely an issue with one of the outtakes. I've got it back on now but it seems to be doing the same thing :(
I'll let ya know tomorrow if it continues. Maybe a call the the manufacturer would be in order. I'll give them a shout tomorrow as well.

I ran one for over a year with no problem. I used it on a Mag 18 and a Mak4. Then I lost two of them in exactly the same was as you describe. I'll be interested to hear what the manufacturer says. I didn't try to claim a warranty because I had modified them for my plumbing.

I too, ran one for over a year without any issues on my previous 90 gallon tank.
Try soaking it in vinegar for 30 minutes, see if that helps. If not, contact the manufacturer. They'll most likely replace it for you as they stand by their product.

Well I ran it under hot water from the tap this morning and it started alternating so I'm about to hook it back up. Hopefully it was just lodged crud. Will let y'all know...

Update on the SCWD,
I spoke to 3iQ Ventures LLC, and it seems there is a problem with this SCWD. The gentleman I spoke with said they would replace it, I just need to ship it to CA. So Tang Man was correct, they do stand by their product, in fact they called me back which I found quite impressive!
I'll update when the replacement come in.
