I was into Home Depot in Carleton Place today to pick up a few electrical items to prepare for another tank and I came across a terrific looking power bar. It has 8 outlets, 4 of which are digitally programmed, costs only $14.98 + tax, has a small battery (included) to maintain the time. Seems to me I paid at least that for just one timer not all that long ago. Should work my lights just dandy!

Does anyone have a picture of one? Sounds like a super deal... would be nice if we can order them from an online source.

This looks like an exact replica of the coralife aqualight digital power center. I had nothing but trouble with it in conjunction with trying to run my 250 watt MH's.... Turns out that my ballasts were too powerful for it, causing it to malfunction with all the timer settings... Sometimes it would work for afew weeks without a glitch, other times only afew days.

I still have it, and it works fine with lower voltage lights. Been running over 6 months without any trouble on flourescents... This item will not work with 250 watt metal halides or brighter... I have no idea if it can handle 150 or 175 mh's..

Still a steal... Costs $50 for the aqualife, which I'm tempted to return now.

Absolutely, great powerbar/timers for a great price. But they were not meant to run metal halides. I had a hell of a time getting good timers to power up my ballasts. I Fried the cheapo digital ones from Canadian Tire within about a month. I ended up going with the ones used outside to heat up block heaters.

Still, its a steal at that price! and can be used for a variety of things around the tank.

Well I started to set up the powerbar tonight and this thing is not what I expected. The timer does all four outlets at the same time. This means I cannot program the actnic, then midday, moon lights all seperate. It is a ok bar for christmas lights but not very good for multiple lights on the aquarium. Just my 2 cents.
